Florida Center for Recovery (FCR) offers evidence based traditional therapies, recovery educational lectures, and alternative holistic therapies. Therapeutic services listed below are part of our all-inclusive inpatient addiction treatment program.

Medical detox is a process in which a medical team of physicians and nurses help a patient manage the physical discomfort of withdrawal from drugs and/or alcohol cravings. Medical detox generally lasts 5 to 7 days, and is often the first step in the addiction treatment process followed by treatment with a behavioral-based therapy and/or a medication, if available. Detox alone with no follow-up is not treatment.
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of psychotherapy commonly used in modern addiction and mental health treatment. The effective therapy aims to identify and end unhealthy patterns of though(often stemming from anxiety, anger, guilt, shame, fear, etc.) that interfere with the patient's daily life, and as a result, helping the individual develop their own constructive way of thinking that result in healthier behavioral patterns.
Individual Therapy is a highly effective treatment approach in the drug and alcohol rehabilitation process. During this therapeutic treatment client works closely with a licensed therapist on a one-on-one basis, exploring the individual's beliefs, feelings, and reasons for acting on unhealthy behaviors. In addressing these deep-rooted personal aspects of the individual, the therapist's aim is to identify the changes the client wants to make in life, help them understand how to achieve those changes/goals, and work toward that desired change.
Group Psychotherapy is a form of therapeutic treatment where a therapist treats a small group of clients in an interactive support group. During these sessions clients share their experiences helping one another cope with their particular situations while receiving the guidance of a professional addiction treatment professional. This therapeutic treatment helps boost clients' confidence and self-esteem at the same time that it aids in reducing the stress and pain felt among the group.
Motivational Interviewing is an evidence-based therapeutic approach that helps clients find the motivation to make positive decisions, thus, realizing personal goals and exercising free choice through the process of self-actualization.
Relapse Prevention Therapy (RPT) is a therapeutic treatment that utilizes cognitive behavioral principles to exclusively address the problem of relapse. The goal of RPT is to help clients develop their own relapse-prevention techniques through the identification of high risk situations providing them with the required coping skills necessary to suppress urges and cravings.
Family Therapy is a common form of psychotherapy that aims to re-build the family structure that has been damaged by substance abuse and addiction; it does so by improving communication skills, repairing family connection, and utilizes techniques to resolve family conflict in healthy ways.
Grief Counseling is a form of psychotherapy that aims to help individuals cope with grief and morning by facilitating the process of resolution in the natural reactions to loss. If a client's addiction recovery is compounded by grief/loss, our clinical team will develop an appropriate treatment protocol to include specialized therapeutic counseling based on the individual's circumstances, as unresolved grief can compromise the recovery process.
Rapid Resolution Therapy® RRT is a revolutionary therapeutic approach to the treatment of emotional & behavioral difficulties and is used to treat PTSD, depression, anxiety and substance abuse. Developed by Dr. Jon Connelly, RRT is designed to help individuals permanently overcome the negative effects of trauma often in as few as 1 to 3 treatment sessions. A 12-step program is a fellowship of people helping other people with an addiction or a compulsive behavior to obtain abstinence. Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) was the first 12-step program established and many other support groups have branched off from AA using the model.
SMART Recovery® (Self Management And Recovery Training) is a "self-empowering" addiction recovery support group where participants learn tools for recovery that are based on scientific research and interact in free mutual self-help groups. SMART Recovery® utilizes a four-point program, with tools for each of the four points: building and maintaining motivation; coping with urges; managing thoughts, feelings and behaviors; and living a balanced life.
