Our Florida veteran’s rehab program is offered in an inpatient setting with variable lengths of stay. FCR’s multidisciplinary addiction treatment services include, among others, Chronic Relapse, Intensive Family Therapy, and Rapid Resolution Therapy (RRT) for clients who are diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
RRT is a nationally known psychotherapy that helps individuals permanently overcome the negative effects of trauma by eliminating the ongoing psychological suffering that stems from disturbing or painful past experiences. Delivered exclusively at our Florida rehab by the founder, Dr. Connelly, Rapid Resolution Therapy is an important component of our veteran's rehab program as it offers relief from debilitating trauma, in a short period of time.
Our Florida Detox and Addiction Treatment Center offers drug and alcohol rehab programs with specialized therapies for veterans experiencing addiction and underlying related mental health conditions. Delivered in a campus-like facility in Fort Pierce, our rehab programs for veterans allow our clients to anchor recovery behaviors for a lasting recovery. Established in 2002, Florida Center for Recovery (FCR) prides itself on providing addiction treatment for veterans, which is comprehensive and innovative. Designed specifically to address the complex aspects of the disease of addiction that is complicated by the unique challenges encountered by our war veterans, our Florida rehab programs are offered to the veterans nationwide.
While specialized private therapies and programs have been available for veterans in need of addiction treatment and many have proven to be a great help to veterans, not many of our veterans receive the appropriate care for their addiction and mental health conditions. This is often due to the fact that not many veterans actually ask or look for specialized help. Unfortunately, the majority are hesitant to ask for advice on what to do because of thefollowing reasons:
Research shows that about one-fourth of all war veteran deaths in the US are related to substance abuse problems. The stress caused by the exposure to war and combat zones is what often leads many military men and women to turn to substance use as a way to cope with the anxiety and depression that sets in after experiencing the combat conditions. Over the last two decades, more than 2 million American soldiers have served in Iraq and Afghanistan many returning home with an array of mental health conditions and substance use disorders. In addition to drugs and alcohol, prescription opioids are among the most abused substances among veterans. It has been reported that from 2006 to 2009, 45% of 397 non-combat related deaths were substance use related overdose.
It is a hard place to be when you are a war veteran suffering from substance use disorder and PTSD or if you have a loved one who is struggling. As challenging as it is, our military men and women can be treated and reintegrated into society successfully. If you are a veteran or know a loved one who is a veteran and needs help for his or her substance use and related underlying mental health conditions, talk to someone who can help. Give us a call at 800-643-4005. Florida Center for Recovery holds the highest rehab facility accreditation certification (Joint Commission), and is one of the Florida’s premier rehab facilities that offer specialized addiction treatment for veterans and active military members.
