Clients attending Florida Center for Recovery (FCR) who are in need of medical detox start their 3 to 5 day treatment process at our detox unit. Following detox they attend our inpatient drug and alcohol rehab where the framework of structured daily therapeutic services is intertwined with alternative complementary therapies that are designed to promote total wellness (physical, emotional and spiritual recovery). Our complementary addiction treatment services are utilized to minimize stress and anxiety allowing for the safest and most supportive environment for healing and recovery. Outdoor therapeutic services such as open-air group therapy and sports activities are generally seasonal activities and offered as weather permits.
Here is an example of what a typical day at Florida Center for Recovery might look like:
MORNINGS:
There is often a group session following breakfast led by a counselor or therapist that focuses on topics related to the treatment process, the 12-step program, addiction and recovery. A significant focus during addiction treatment is on achieving clarity about the issues, people and surroundings that have fueled the desire to abuse drugs or alcohol.
These daily meetings, in the safety of a controlled therapeutic environment, help clients recognize patterns of behavior that need to be identified for change, as triggers in post-treatment.
AFTERNOONS:
FCR’s individual therapeutic sessions utilize evidence-based with historically proven methods such as: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Therapy (RET), 12-Step, Motivational Interviewing and GORSKI-CENAPS® Model of Relapse Prevention Therapy. These therapies are customized and individualized for each individual.
Florida Center for Recovery provides four specialized multidisciplinary therapeutic services: Rapid Resolution Therapy® (for trauma treatment), Chronic Relapse, Pregnant Women and Military/First Responders Rehab Program. These therapeutic services are tailored to address each individual’s particular needs, where one-on-one counseling provides the healing/coping techniques to help improve the client’s ability to handle issues related to their situation in a controlled manner rather than relying on substances to self-medicate.
FCR utilizes an array of Psychotherapeutic approaches which include, but not limited to: CBT, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Dynamic Group Therapy, and the Positive Peer Culture Approach. During group therapy, clients are able to share their personal stories with one another, which promote emotional healing. Group members often develop a sense of fellowship during the weeks in treatment, and as trust grows they become more open during group sessions and develop sincere compassion and understanding for each other’s battles.
Family participation in the client’s recovery process is a crucial part of treatment as the disease of addiction affects the entire family, often leading to destructive codependency, enabling behaviors or intense anger and resentment. Our family therapy sessions focus on building a solid foundation for both the client and his/her loved ones so they can transition from primary treatment to a productive life with the tools necessary to attain a successful recovery. Our Family Therapeutic Sessions cover topics including, but not limited to:
Our Family Therapy Program is conducted on a weekly basis, either at the facility or via telephone conference. In addition, we offer a full day Family Intensive Program on a monthly basis.
Our Florida Drug and Alcohol Rehab Program may also host speakers who share their own recovery experience, offering those in treatment a sense of hope for their own future. Speakers often talk about practical recovery tips and how they rebuilt their lives post-treatment, or they simply offer inspirational speeches to help lift spirits of those who desperately need such support.
In addition Florida Center for Recovery offers various supplemental therapies during different weekdays these may include:
