Opioids (including prescription opioids, heroin, and fentanyl) killed more than 42,000 people in 2016, more than any other year on record. Forty percent (40%) of all opioid overdose deaths involve a prescription opioid. While we are all still in the process of learning more about opioids in order to protect ourselves and our loved ones from opioid abuse, individuals who have become impaired by opioids, and their loved ones, are having a difficult time sorting out how and where to get treatment for this debilitating addiction.
