Addiction Treatment Centers in Florida

ADDICTION TREATMENT PROGRAMS IN FLORIDA | DRUG AND ALCOHOL REHAB

Achieving addiction recovery will forever change one’s life for the better. That’s because overcoming addiction is about more than just no longer drinking or using drugs; it’s about discovering a new sense of self and becoming healthy. At Florida Center for Recovery (FCR), we understand the significance behind attending rehab and overcoming addiction. So we make sure that all of our addiction treatment programs treat the body, mind, and soul on top of providing scientific and evidence-based treatment practices.

Medical Detox for Addiction Treatment

Addiction Treatment Programs

Prior to participating in addiction treatment programs, most recovering addicts must go through a medical detox process. This is the official process of ridding one’s body of all substances under the supervision of medical professionals. Prospective Florida Center for Recovery patients that need to receive medical detox prior to attending addiction treatment can do so through the FCR medical detox clinic. Medical detox occurs in three key stages: the evaluation stage, the stabilization stage, and the transition-to-treatment stage.

Evaluation Stage

The evaluation stage is the first stage of medical detox. In the evaluation stage of medical detox, the medical detox team will evaluate you through medical and mental health assessments. These assessments will include tests to see if any substances are still in your body and determine how many and what kind of substances are in your body.

All of the information that the medical detox team receives from these assessments will help them come up with your individualized medical detox program. The information from these assessments will also determine if one will need medication-assisted treatment.

Stabilization Stage

The stabilization stage is the second stage in medical detox. During this stage, the patient is actively going through detox until he or she achieves sobriety. The goal is to help patients to achieve sobriety safely and comfortably. That way, patients are stable and ready to move on to the next stage of medical detox and addiction treatment.

To help ensure that patients go through medical detox safely and comfortably, the medical detox team may give patients prescription medications to help them manage their withdrawal symptoms. If need be, the medical detox team will also give patients in this stage of detox psychosocial interventions.

Some medical detox facilities will even get the loved ones of patients to stop by during the stabilization stage. The purpose of this is to help patients stay motivated to complete detox and attend addiction treatment.

Transition-to-Treatment Stage

The transition-to-treatment stage of medical detox is the third and final stage of medical detox. This stage of medical detox occurs after the patient has achieved sobriety. The goal of this medical detox stage is to provide patients with all the information that they need to pick out the right addiction treatment programs for themselves.

Different Types of Addiction Treatment Programs

There are various different types of addiction treatment programs that a person can choose from. The primary types of addiction treatment programs are based on the severity of a patient’s condition.

Inpatient Treatment

Inpatient addiction treatment programs are the most intensive form of addiction treatment. Those who attend inpatient addiction treatment should have severe addictions. Inpatient addiction treatment programs require that patients live at the rehab facilities that they’re receiving treatment at. This means that people that attend inpatient rehab in the state of Florida must live in their Florida rehabilitation facilities.

By living at the rehab facilities that they’re receiving treatment at, inpatient treatment patients will receive 24/7 monitoring and supervision. This will help ensure that those with severe addictions will not secretly try to use substances while in rehab.

Part of what makes inpatient addiction treatment programs so intensive is how long they occur. This is because inpatient addiction treatment programs tend to last at least 30 days. Inpatient addiction treatment programs are also the most structured of all addiction treatment programs.

Residential Treatment

Residential treatment is another form of inpatient addiction treatment. Many would say that it’s just the slightly less intensive version of standard inpatient addiction treatment. As with the standard form of inpatient treatment, residential addiction treatment programs require their patients to live at their rehab facilities. Thus, residential rehab patients that are receiving treatment in Florida will also need to live in their Florida rehabilitation facilities.

Also similar to standard inpatient treatment, residential treatment patients will receive 24/7 monitoring and care. Like standard inpatient treatment, residential addiction treatment programs will even also last around 30 days or more. What makes residential treatment different from standard inpatient treatment is the fact that residential treatment is less structured. Residential treatment patients will have more time for themselves than standard inpatient treatment patients would.

Standard Outpatient Treatment

Outpatient addiction treatment programs are rehab programs that don’t require that their patients live at the rehab facilities that they’re receiving treatment at. There are various types of addiction treatment programs that are outpatient.

The least intensive type of outpatient treatment program is the standard form of outpatient treatment. This is because standard forms of outpatient rehab only require that patients show up for treatment for a couple of hours a day, once or twice a week. When not receiving treatment, standard outpatient addiction treatment patients can go home.

Since outpatient addiction treatment programs allow their patients to live at home when not receiving treatment, only people who can avoid using substances when left alone without supervision should receive outpatient care. Therefore, outpatient treatment is for people whose addictions aren’t too severe.

One benefit of attending most outpatient forms of rehab is the ability to still keep up with your day-to-day responsibilities. This benefit is due to patients getting to live at home in the real world when not receiving treatment. This is unlike inpatient forms of rehab in which patients are separated from the real world for extended periods of time.

Partial Hospitalization Program Treatment

The most intensive and structured form of outpatient addiction treatment is partial hospitalization program (PHP) outpatient treatment. This is because PHP treatment requires that its patients receive scheduled addiction treatment all day long. Therefore, although PHP patients don’t need to live at the rehab facilities that they’re receiving treatment at, the amount of time that these patients need to dedicate to PHPs minimizes the number of day-to-day responsibilities that they can keep up with.

Since partial hospitalization programs occur all day long, another term for them is day treatment programs. Technically, day treatment programs occur for around five to eight hours a day, five to seven days a week.

Intensive Outpatient Program Treatment

Intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) are the second most intensive forms of outpatient treatment. Like with all other forms of outpatient addiction treatment programs, IOPs don’t require patients to live at their rehab facilities. These types of addiction treatment programs are still intensive and structured though, hence the name. Intensive outpatient programs occur for several hours a day, two to four times a week.

Dual Diagnosis Treatment

When a patient simultaneously suffers from a mental health disorder and a substance use disorder, that patient has co-occurring disorders. (This is known as a dual diagnosis.) Dual diagnoses require a special form of addiction treatment to overcome.

Dual diagnosis treatment programs include addiction treatment and therapy practices that will simultaneously treat one’s addiction and mental illness. It’s essential for people with dual diagnosis disorders to attend dual diagnosis treatment rather than just regular forms of addiction treatment. Treating one disorder prior to treating the other will only cause the treated disorder to reappear. In fact, treating the two disorders in a dual diagnosis at two different times could worsen both disorders in the long-run.

For example, many people start abusing substances to cope with their mental illness. Therefore, mental illness often acts as a catalyst for addiction. So, if a person with a dual diagnosis only treats his or her substance use disorder, the lingering mental illness will cause the substance use disorder to come back up again.

On the other hand, if a person with a dual diagnosis only treats the mental illness, the lingering substance use disorder could cause alterations in one’s brain that causes mental illness symptoms such as depression, to re-occur. Florida Center for Recovery provides specialized co-occurring addiction treatment programs for those that suffer from dual diagnosis disorders.

Holistic Treatment

Holistic addiction treatment programs are rehab programs that use alternative practices to treat the “whole” person rather than just the physical body. Therefore, holistic addiction treatment programs focus on treating the mind, body, and spirit.

This type of addiction treatment program uses alternative treatment practices and natural approaches. They might include the use of natural herbs and supplements to help patients improve their physical health and manage any lingering withdrawal symptoms while in rehab.

Holistic addiction treatment programs will also use alternative practices such as yoga and meditation or art or music to help patients learn and develop coping mechanisms. These coping mechanisms will help patients treat and manage their addictions while in recovery. Holistic addiction treatment programs also include different forms of addiction therapy.

Here at Florida Center for Recovery, we incorporate Eastern and Western holistic treatment and therapy practices into all of our addiction treatment programs. Doing so makes the addiction treatment programs at our Florida rehabilitation facility more inclusive.

Chronic Relapse Treatment Program

Here at Florida Center for Recovery, we provide a special addiction treatment program for recovering addicts that are chronic relapsers. Chronic relapsers are people that struggle with maintaining their sobriety and not relapsing after attending rehab.

During our chronic relapsers addiction treatment programs, patients follow relapse prevention-based treatment protocols. Our chronic relapse addiction treatment programs also make use of predictive analytics and peer-supported curriculums that are designed to prevent relapse.

If you suffer from addiction and trauma, our rapid resolution treatment program just for you. Rapid Resolution Therapy is a new, effective form of addiction therapy that is taking addiction treatment by storm.
